Pulp Fiction is a 1994 American black comedy crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, who conceived it with Roger Avary. Starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Tim Roth, Ving Rhames, and Uma Thurman, it tells several stories of criminal Los Angeles.
Tarantino was famous for violence and profanity, but the script of Pulp Fiction is a work of genius. Structurally, it is innovative and clever but easy to follow, but linguistically, it plays games and follows ideas in a way nobody else was doing at the time and few have successfully imitated since.
